What To Bring
Travel Requirements

  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses (with retainers)
  • waterbottle (with carabiner to attach to raft)
  • Headtorch (headlamp or flashlight)
  • Waterproof camera for raft
  • Warm, fleece jacket
  • Quality raingear
  • 2 pair long pants, shorts and shirt for camp
  • 2 pairs polypropilene top/bottoms (1 pr. midweight and 1 pr. expedition weight)
  • Warm hat, socks and gloves (fleece or wool)
  • Brimmed hat for sun protection
  • Swimsuit/shorts
  • Book/journal
  • Toiletries
  • River footwear (river shoes or quality river sandals)
  • Lightweight hiking shoes/socks
  • Optional:

  • Camera for off river

  • Global Descents provides:

  • Seven nights accommodation.
  • Pick up at Puerto Montt airport in Chile or Esquel airport in Argentina and rapid transfer to Global Descents’ all-inclusive riverside ranch and spa.
  • Flights over the Andes from Puerto Montt to Chaiten, and transport to Futaleufu and back should you travel through Chile.
  • All food and drink from the time we meet you in the airport until we return you there again eight days later.
  • All amenities available at Global Descents’ riverside ranch. These include one complimentary massage in our spa, yoga classes, hot tub, plush robes and towels, open bar, fine wines and healthy, hearty meals prepared by our on-site chef.
